ABOUT US

We’re a warm and welcoming church family based in Marston Green. We invite you to join us in worship and fellowship as we grow in faith and share the love of Jesus Christ.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.”

HISTORY

The Baptist Free Church began in 1923, when the Huddleston family felt led to establish a Free Church in Marston Green. With just £35, an American organ, and strong faith, a group of 26 residents began meeting. In 1924, the original church building opened, and our journey began.

We grew steadily, and a new permanent building was completed in 1963. In 1997, we merged with Tile Cross Baptist Church and became the Baptist Free Church. In 2024, we celebrated 100 years of ministry. We trust God will continue to lead us faithfully into the future.

AFFILIATIONS

We are a member church of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and the Heart of England Baptist Association. While our church is autonomous, we value our wider connections within the Baptist community.

LEADERSHIP

The church is led by a team elected from within our membership. This leadership team comprises a Pastor (when in post), two Church Officers (Treasurer and Administrator), two Elders and a number of Deacons. Deacons are elected at the Annual General Meeting and serve terms of three years.
